HMS Wasp was a Bramble-class screw gunboat of the Royal Navy, built by Armstrong Mitchell at Elswick on the River Tyne and launched on 13 September 1886. Commissioned in April 1887, the ship was lost at sea in September 1887 while en-route to take up station at Shanghai. Wasp was the first Royal navy ship to utilise a triple-expansion steam engine.
