Bernau bei Berlin (German pronunciation: [bɛʁˈnaʊ baɪ bɛʁˈliːn] , lit. 'Bernau near Berlin'; commonly named Bernau) is a town in the Barnim district in Brandenburg in eastern Germany, located about 10 km (6.2 mi) northeast of Berlin.
