Athamanta (or Athamantha) is a genus of flowering plant in the family Apiaceae. It is native to southern Europe and northern Africa. One of the synonyms of Athamanta, Tinguarra, was originally described by Italian botanist Filippo Parlatore who named the genus after Tinguaro.
